血糖值应保持在多少最好？
专家介绍，由于糖尿病患者血糖波动大，在治疗过程中，一般不可能要求其血糖水平达到正常人的水平，因此只要达到空腹血糖4.0～7.8mmol/L（70～140mg/dl），餐后两小时血糖6.0～10.0mmol/L（108～180mg/dl），任何随机时间血糖：10.0mmol/L以下（180mg/dl），同时又不发生，就可以认为血糖控制良好了。由于个体的差异，血糖控制目标也因人而异，病人有必要随时向社区全科医生进行咨询，根据自身情况确定血糖的适当范围。由于老年人容易发生低血糖，制定的血糖标准可略高一点。糖尿病孕妇为了胎儿的健康发育，血糖要严格控制在标准范围内。
自我监测血糖的操作方法
调整血糖仪的代码使其与您现在使用的试纸的代码相同，注意不同时间购买的试纸有不同的代码，所以必须先调整血糖仪的代码；洗手，用酒精消毒采血的手指；手臂下垂30秒，以便使血液充分流到手指；将采血针头装入刺指笔中，根据手指皮肤厚度选择穿刺深度，破手指取适量血；待血糖仪指示取血后，将血滴在血糖试纸指示孔上；把血糖试纸插入血糖仪中。注意有的血糖仪需先将试纸插入血糖仪中，再将血滴在试纸上；几秒或十几秒钟之后，从血糖仪上读出血糖值；在记录本上记录血糖值和监测时间。
自我监测血糖的注意事项
血量不够、血糖试纸超过有效期、手指消毒酒精未干、未将血糖仪代码调到和试纸一样时，都会影响检测的准确性；手指消毒后，一定要等酒精挥发干燥后再采血；采血部位要交替轮换，不要长期刺扎一个地方，以免形成。在手指侧边采血疼痛较轻，而且血量足；妥善保管用过的酒精棉球、针头等，最好集中送到社区卫生站处理；血糖仪要放置在干燥清洁处，不要让小孩、宠物触及、玩耍；血糖仪都应该有售后服务，要定期到购买的商店或厂家指定处校正血糖仪是否准确，到医院与抽血检查结果对比也可知道其准确性。
